About the Artist
I am the manatee.
I'm almost universally recognized as friendly and am just kinda there, bumbling along and eating various vegetation as I go. I may not be among the more celebrated creatures of the world, but I'm quite happy with who I am.
And a huge reason for that, I must say, is my art.
It's my own.
It's my freedom, my expression.
It's where I go when the words or actions don't come.
I think in books. That is, my brain processes things that happen in my life in text; beautiful, eloquent, flowing descriptions and dialogue. But as the signals from my brain get closer and closer to my tongue, it's like they turn to pudding.
Blam. Tapioca.
And so my work says what I can't.
When my heart aches, when issues clutch at my insides, when the emotion takes over, when yet another part of me is clawing to get out...
see for yourself.
